Participation FMB suppliers trade fair for mechanical engineering
from 4th to 6th September 2015 in Bad Salzuflen

Vorwald presented itself at the exhibition stand together with other companies from the Neuenhauser Group to the interested visitors of the FMB 2015.

Many customers and prospects from Ostwestfalen-Lippe and also the rest of Germany took advantage of this fair for discussions around rollers and general engineering. Neuenhauser was present with the most of its areas (clamping elements, rollers, subcontracting and also assemblies and equipment production) which were very satisfied with the fair.

The brand mascot Mr. Vorwald represented at the FMB 2016 products
of the brands
Vorwald and AR Walzen and found general compliance again.

ICE Europe 2015 (10th to 12th March 2015)

Vorwald unveiled with AR Walzen and Slittec cutting technology at
a joint stand at Hall A6 his new enlarged product range.

The high reputation of all 3 brands made sure that the stand on all
3 days of the fair was very well attended and there were many good
and intensive discussions with our customers.

The strategy to present the best possible solutions in the field
deflections, winding, unwinding and cutting on one stand found a
very good response in the converting industry.

For the ICE Europe 2017 (from 21 to 23 March 2017) at Munich
the same stand is already booked.

Neuenhauser-Vorwald forges alliance with AR-Walzen

Neuenhaus / Bad Salzuflen, 2013, Febr. 5th  Cooperation with the roller manufacturer strengthens purchasing, manufacture and development.

The Neuenhauser Group, under the leadership of the Neuenhauser Division Vorwald, has entered into immediate collaboration with AR-Walzen GmbH in Bad Salzuflen.

In future, the roller specialist AR-Walzen GmbH will operate together with the Neuenhauser Group in the field of roller production and the development of innovative roller concepts for customers in the paper, plastics and tin foil processing industries.

Expansion shaft manufacturer, Neuenhauser-Vorwald (no.1 on the German market for winding and expansion shafts), and the established roller manufacturer, AR-Walzen in Bad Salzuflen, have agreed to intensify their good, long term collaboration, to mutually utilise their know-how in the area of high-end machine components such as winding shafts, axles and rollers and to develop this further.

Furthermore, the alliance aims to achieve synergy in the areas of purchasing, production, service and sales.

AR-Walzen is a medium-sized family business, which has maintained extraordinary success in the roller market over many years. AR-Walzen develops, produces and markets rollers for production systems and winding machines. The products are sold across Europe to well known customers in the paper, plastics and tin foil producing and processing industries.

The Neuenhauser Group now has a broad portfolio of products / manufactured goods and brands (further information under www.neuenhauser.de). Our Neuenhauser Division Vorwald (founded in 1920) is Germany’s biggest supplier of core clamping components. These machine elements are used to accommodate core reels with a diameter of 12.5 mm (e.g. adhesive tape reels) up to a diameter of 600 mm (e.g. 25 t aluminium coil) and are an indispensible component of any modern production system today. Vorwald has been the undisputed market leader in this segment of the market for years. A further production area, N|A|W|U (axles, rollers and more...), has also been continuously developed. Vorwald operates with a total of approx. 120 employees at its sites in Neuenhaus and Osnabrück.

The alliance between these two northern German companies with their main sites in Neuenhaus and Bad Salzuflen will strengthen the respective economic areas further and is a clear commitment to the region.

Review of ICE 2009:
The participation at the exhibition ICE 2009 has been very successful for Neuenhauser-Vorwald. A lot of interesting conversations and sales talks have been taken place at the exhibition stand. As well prospective buyers as customers from the converting industry and other branch of industries traveled to Munich. During the exhibition from 24-26 November, 2009 several contracts have been signed as a result of the sales talks. Neuenhauser-Vorwald has shown a cross-section of their extensive range of expansion shafts and chucks suitable for all types of winding and rewinding applications.

Main showcase items were:

New developments:

  • Expansion shaft 406: With this design realized as a safety shaft, the shaft keeps its expansion even with loss of power. Furthermore, the shaft adjusts to each different inside diameter of the cores.
  • Central bladder shaft: By introducing spring loaded balls into the shaft outside diameter to assist core centering there has been, as a result, an improvement in concentric running. This construction is only suitable for rewinding.

Discussions with customers:

  • From our experiences of previous ICE-exhibitions we are aware of the highly specialized knowledge of our visitors and we take important drives for product design development from cooperation with our customers.

Product range::

  • Mechanical expansion shaft type 401 – with improved expansion mechanics, precise concentric running for heavy winding weights and high speeds, together with an easy to maintain design.
  • Friction shaft systems – for narrow web winding machines, with the option of a large variety of friction ring types configured specifically for each operation. The friction rings can be supplied with or without springs.
  • A new generation of expansion chucks for shaftless winding – together with a compact design they have a higher efficiency in converting the clamping force.
  • Pneumatic expansion shafts with an optimized internal design.

review drupa 2008:
Neuenhauser Vorwald can look back to a very successful paticipation at the exhibition drupa 2008. During the exhibition Neuenhauser Vorwald get in touch with many interesting prospective buyers and customers. There have been signed several contracts.

At the exhibition stand has been shown a crosssection of their great range of expansion shafts and chucks suitable for all types of winding and rewinding applications.

Products that have been shown:
Winding shafts, expansion shafts, couplings, friction shafts and for shaftless applications, expansion chucks, adaptors and cantilever shafts.

All these products are available with either pneumatic or mechanical operation. The delivery scope includes expansion units designed for use with cores made of cardboard, plastic and metal, and with core internal diameters from 1/2" to 26".

For heavy shafts Vorwald shows a shaft puller type EA ( for shafts up to 3000 kg ), which is available as manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic versions.

Impressions from the Vorwald exhibition stand at drupa 2008:

  • Mechanical expansion shaft type 401 dia. 250 mm for PM winding with speed up to 2000 m/min. with improved mechanical expansion, precise concentric running for heavy winding weights and high speeds, together with an easy to maintain design (as shown in picture above, together with a shaft puller type EA 210)
  • Friction shaft systems for narrow web winding machines, with the option of a large variety of friction ring types configured specifically for each operation. The friction rings can be supplied with or without springs.
  • A new generation of expansion chucks for shaftless winding – together with a compact design they have a higher efficiency in converting the clamping force.
  • Pneumatic expansion shafts – with an optimized internal design

In addition, Vorwald supplies pneumatic expandable knife shafts, crush cut shafts, safety chucks and brakes, guide and vacuum shafts.

Quarter termination
In the first quarter of the year 2008 Vorwald achieved a keen demand of expansion units and shaft pullers.

Parallel to this the activities and service in Asia has been extended. At the beginning of this year Vorwald received the order from Asia to supply 84 pieces of expansion shafts type 401 A ø 250 mm with an overall length of 4000 mm each as well as 7 pieces of shaft pullers inclusive equipment.
